AFF student in freefall

AFF - Accelerated Freefall

Learn to skydive on your own.

The fastest, safest way to a solo skydiving licence, recognised across Europe.

What is AFF?

From first jump to solo licence in seven steps.

Accelerated Freefall is the modern way to learn how to skydive. Unlike older static-line programmes, AFF puts you in freefall from the very first jump, alongside two qualified jumpmasters who fly with you, give signals in the air, and help correct your body position. The course is structured around seven levels of increasing autonomy. By the end, you'll be exiting the aircraft alone, doing your own checks, your own freefall, and your own canopy flight. Around 25 jumps later, you can apply for your A-licence and join the worldwide community of sport parachutists.

How the course works

Seven levels, one mountain to climb.

Each level has clear learning objectives. You can repeat any level. There is no rush, no pressure, and no judgement.

AFF ground school

Ground school

A full day of classroom and practical training covering equipment, freefall body position, emergency procedures, canopy flight, and landing patterns.

AFF student in freefall with instructors

Levels 1 to 3

You exit the aircraft with two jumpmasters holding you. Each level teaches a new skill: stable position, turns, forward movement. Two instructors stay with you until you can fly stably on your own.

Solo AFF student

Levels 4 to 7

You're now solo in freefall, with one jumpmaster flying nearby to observe and coach. You learn 360° turns, tracking, barrel rolls, and unstable exits: the toolkit you'll use for the rest of your jumping career.

Requirements

Who can start AFF?

AFF is open to most adults. There are a few medical and administrative requirements.

  • Minimum age 16 (parental consent required under 18).
  • Body weight between 45 and 110 kg fully clothed.
  • A signed medical declaration of fitness; a doctor's certificate is required if you answer "yes" to any health question. We will provide a list of DAC-approved doctors.
  • A working knowledge of English, French, German or Luxembourgish; your instructor must be able to communicate clearly with you in the air.
  • Two days of availability for ground school + first jump. Always block the whole day during AFF.

After AFF

Your A-licence is just the beginning.

Once you finish level 7 you'll do a few consolidation jumps, then move on to your A-licence proficiency card: pull-priority drills, water landing brief, canopy course, and a 25-jump count. From there, the sport opens up: belly flying with other jumpers, freefly, wingsuiting, formation skydiving, canopy piloting and, for many of our students, coaching the next generation. We host coach courses, organisers, and load organisers throughout the season.
