Are there weight and age limits for a tandem jump?
Yes. Tandem passengers must be at least 14 years old (with written parental consent if under 18) and weigh no more than 90 kg (200 lb) fully clothed. There is no formal upper age limit, but you must be in reasonable health. Please tell us in advance about any medical conditions.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first. Strong winds, low cloud or rain will ground us. If we cannot fly on the day of your booking, we will reschedule you free of charge to the next available slot. We make the call on the morning of your jump after consulting aviation weather services. Before leaving home, check your phone and emails.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing suitable for the season and closed lace-up trainers or light hiking shoes. Avoid heavy boots, sandals, dresses or skirts. We provide a jumpsuit, goggles and helmet. In winter, dress in warm layers. It is roughly 15 °C colder at altitude than on the ground.
Can I bring my own camera or phone?
For safety reasons, only licensed skydivers with a camera rating may jump with their own equipment. Phones, GoPros and other devices are not permitted in freefall for tandem passengers. Footage of your jump is included in your booking.
Is skydiving safe?
Modern sport skydiving has an excellent safety record. Our equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications, our instructors are certified by recognised national and international federations, and every parachute system includes an automatic activation device as a backup. That said, skydiving is an extreme sport, and you should be aware that residual risk exists.
How high do we jump from?
Tandem jumps exit at approximately 4 000 m (13 000 ft) above ground, giving you around 60 seconds of freefall at roughly 200 km/h before the parachute opens at about 1 500 m. The canopy ride down then lasts five to seven minutes.
What does AFF stand for?
AFF means Accelerated Freefall. It is the modern method of learning to skydive solo. From your very first jump you fly your own parachute, accompanied in freefall by one or two instructors who release you once you demonstrate stability and control.
How long does the AFF course take?
The ground school is one full day, followed by a progression of seven to nine training jumps and a number of consolidation jumps before your A licence check. With good weather, motivated students complete the full programme in two to three weekends. Spread out, it can take a whole season.
Can I jump with a medical condition?
Many conditions are no obstacle, but some, such as heart, lung, back, or neurological issues, require a doctor's clearance. Please mention any condition or medication in the medical form you sign on the day. If in doubt, contact us before booking and we'll advise.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. Tandem gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from purchase and are transferable. We can email a PDF voucher. Vouchers are a popular birthday, retirement and wedding gift. We just ask that recipients book early in the season.
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
If we cancel because of weather or technical reasons, you can rebook. If you cancel more than 7 days in advance, you can rebook for another day; less than 7 days before the jump, cancellation is only possible with a medical certificate. Bookings are non-refundable but can be transferred to another person. No-shows forfeit the booking.
Will I get photos or video of my jump?
Yes - every tandem booking includes a video of your jump, filmed by your instructor on a handcam. An upgrade to an outside cameraflyer is possible on request, subject to availability.
